[Learn More] | Grants Advisory Board for Youth or GABY supports young people to learn about giving and serving and taking action on issues that they care about.
GABY awarded 34 grants of $500 each to youth-led projects in Sacramento. In an event at Sac State on January 30, 2010, youth teams presented their projects that showcased how they would serve others and their communities. Acting Lt. Governor Mona Pasquil inspired the crowd to “Be real and pass it on” and to dream of a future where they could make a difference. California Secretary of Food and Agriculture A. G. Kawamura remarked on the importance of their projects that focused on healthy eating and exercise as well as caring for the environment.
